Objective

  • To understand proper positioning when executing a relay.

Equipment

  • Baseballs
  • Fungo
  • Gloves
  • Bases

Description

  • The outfielders are placed in their defensive positions.
  • The corner infield positions are required to make the relay home.
  • The coach hits a baseball into the outfield at one of the outfielders.
  • The throw is made to the cut-off person who relays the baseball to home plate.

Tips

  • Include base runners in the drill to establish a timing mechanism for the outfielders and the infielders.
