Wall
Description
This drill can be done anywhere as well as at any time during a season.
To begin, pitcher paces out distance (stride + 5). This is done by simply going through the normal stride then counting out five more steps after the landing point.
Once distance is determined, pitcher returns to starting position and coach/partner kneels down with glove in hand opposite him/her.
Tips
Start with a staggered stance (toe to arch)..
Bend knees and lean into front foot.
Lift, come out, with glove out (never going backward).
Keep eyes fixed on target.
Do one-legged reps after missing (video 2).
Start with shoulder against a wall to ensure that there is no backward momentum.
