Become familiar with coming off the bag and making a tag on the base runner
The first baseman should be on the base with a partner approximately 15 to 20 feet away.
The throws should be made down the line towards home plate forcing the first baseman to come off the bag.
The first baseman should catch the baseball and make a tagging motion in the direction of the runner.
Involve a base runner coming down the line to add some pressure on the first baseman to make the play.
Make sure the first baseman concentrates on catching the baseball first and then trying to make the tag.
