Objective

  • Develop momentum towards intended target .
  • Establish and repeat effecient footwork

Equipment

  • Baseballs (2-3)
  • Gloves

Description

  • In partners, position players 10-15 feet apart.
  • The feeder rolls the ball directly at the infielder. The infielder receives the ball going through the entire motion of throwing, ultimately flipping the ball back to the feeder.
  • The feeder simply shuffles alongside partner, maintaining position directly in front of the infielder.

Tips

  • Roll the ball to the left side (left foot) of the infielder. This allows for movement by the infielder through the target.
  • Allow enough time for the infielder to set-up before each repetition.
  • This drill can be continuous with no delay between repititions. Both individuals move accross the field throughout the drill.
  • Throwing can be incorporated.
