Produce the proper angle for an infielder when fielding a baseball that is hit directly at them.
Equipment
Baseballs (2 - 3)
Glove
Description
Place a baseball approximately six to eight feet in front of the player.
The infielder moves towards the baseball from an angle, not directly at the ball.
Tips
Start this drill off slowly so the infielders perform the footwork correctly.
Increase the speed of the drill when you are satisfied with the execution.
An indicator that an angle has been produced by the infielder is if the momentum of the player takes them towards first base and not towards home plate.
